The chess team meets in HS room 1204 on Tuesdays and Fridays, beginning in late October until late March. Each practice goes from 3:30 to 5 on Tuesday and 3:30 to 5:30 on Friday. Chess team is open to all HS students. No experience is necessary, students are welcome to show up and learn how to play. We compete in the Northeast Wisconsin Chess Association (NEWCA) and play in 6-8 tournaments a year with local schools, all held on Saturdays (9a-3p). Competitions have a Varsity, Varsity Reserve and Junior Varsity section to help separate players based on his/her abilities.

The chess team has been very successful in our approximately 20 year history, winning 4 Division 3 state titles and state runner-up in Division 1.
